Our Coating Solutions
Zinc Electroplating Coating

One of the most traditional types of coatings applied to protect metals against corrosion is zinc electroplating coating. It creates a thin film layer on the base metal through electrolysis that provides corrosion protection to the base metal. Within Norm Coating, we have 5 fully automated drum plating facilities, licensed by MacDermid and Atotech, for acidic zinc plating, as well as 1 alkaline zinc plating facility. These facilities enable us to perform an annual coating of 60,000 tons with acidic zinc plating, and additionally, we have 1 rack zinc electroplating line facility that allows us to perform coatings of 500,000 square meters per year.

Zinc-Nickel Electroplating plating

Zinc-nickel plating is an alloyed electroplated zinc coating that typically contains 12-15% nickel unless otherwise specified. This type of coating provides high corrosion performance. Zinc-nickel plating, applied with alkaline solutions, allows for easier control of metal distribution and offers better coating performance, making it a preferred choice. Within Norm Coating, we have two fully automated drum plating facilities licensed by MacDermid and Atotech for alkaline zinc-nickel plating, allowing us to perform an annual coating of 22,000 tons. Additionally, we have 1 rack zinc-nickel plating facility that enables us to perform coatings of 1,000,000 square meters per year

Zinc Phosphate Coating

It is a crystalline conversion coating. Zinc phosphate, when used alone, provides short-term corrosion protection mainly during transportation, and it is also used as a surface preparation process in coatings such as powder paint, cataphoresis and zinc flake coating. Norm Coating applies immersion zinc phosphate coating with fine-grained and coarse-grained structures, licensed by Chemetall and MacDermid, with an annual capacity of 3600 tons/year. Additionally, we apply spray fine-grained zinc phosphate coating as a surface treatment prior to paint application in our powder paint facility.

Topcoat Applications

With our OEM-approved licensed MacDermid, Coventya, and Atotech chemicals, we have the capability to adjust the coefficient of friction and enhance corrosion resistance according to the assembly conditions of fasteners. Within Norm Coating, we have 8 topcoat lines that allow us to apply 45,000 tons of topcoat annually.

Zinc Coating

Zinc coating is a type of coating that consists of zinc and aluminum flake , along with inorganic binders that allow flakes to adhere to the base metal through curing, providing very high corrosion resistance. Norm Coating is an approved applicator of licensed licensors (Dörken, Geomet, Magni, Atotech) by worldwide OEMs, primarily in the automotive industry. We have a wide range of machinery with an annual capacity of 40,000 tons for zinc flake coating, including 13 Dip Spin, 3 Spray, and 2 Rack Dip Spin lines.

Cleanliness Application

Micro-particles present on fasteners have become much more critical in new technological systems. Micro-particles can cause malfunctions in technical products such as gearboxes, turbines, and engines, as well as medical devices like syringes and filters. Therefore, the size, quantity, and weight of contamination on the product have gained significant importance in standards and specifications. Maximum particle counts, types, sizes, and weights that can be present on products are classified as cleanliness levels in standards. To achieve these cleanliness levels, we have implemented a dedicated washing and packaging process with an annual capacity of 600 tons. The effectiveness of the cleaning process in the cleanliness procedure is verified and reported in our dedicated cleanliness control room in the laboratory.

Hydrogen Embrittlement Relief Application

Hydrogen embrittlement refers to the ingress of hydrogen atoms into the material and the subsequent loss of ductility caused by either material-related factors or external processes applied to the material. Metals with a strength class of 10.9 or higher are particularly at risk of cracking or fracturing in areas where hydrogen is concentrated when exposed to certain forces. To mitigate this risk, a tempering process is carried out in the temperature range of 180°C-220°C to remove the hydrogen absorbed by the material surfaces after electrolytic plating. Within Norm Coating, we have 5 hydrogen relief bake ovens capable of performing an annual capacity of 50,000 tons of hydrogen relief bake process.

Wet/ Powder paint application

Norm Coating has an annual total of 260,000 m² surface area painting capacity, equipped with power-free conveyor system, a 6-axis fully automated robotic dual booth wet paint line for primer and topcoat applications, and a Cartesian robotic single booth powder coating line. Tri-cation zinc phosphate is applied as a pre-treatment process. We provide services to the automotive industry, including both OEMs and suppliers, as well as white goods, machinery manufacturers, and electrical-electronic companies.

Microencapsulated adhesive applications

Microencapsulated adhesives applied to bolt threads in areas requiring high solvent resistance are used to prevent the loosening of fasteners after assembly. At Norm Coating, we have 6 microencapsulated adhesive application lines using chemicals such as 3M 2353, Precote 5, Precote 30, Precote 80, Precote 85, and Precote 300. We provide this service with an annual capacity of 200,000,000 units.

Plastic Patch Application

Plastic patch applications on fastener threads provide resistance against vibration-induced loosening and are preferred in locking systems due to their reusability feature. At Norm Coating, we have 5 Plastic Patch lines with Tuflok® license, and we provide plastic patch services with an annual capacity of 70,000,000 units.

Thread Masking Coating Applications

OmniMASK® is a Teflon-based powder coating that provides protection against weld spatter and electrolytic buildup, as well as accumulation of electrocoating, e-coating, primers, and paints. It is commonly used for welding nuts and welding bolts. At Norm Coating, we have 3 application lines with an annual capacity of 27,000,000 units for OmniMASK® coating.
